Manzanita Kid-Friendly Gardens

Karen Selvar breaks ground on April 1

The Manzanita Community Gardens opened on April 15, 2009.

The field is owned by Elizabeth Gadbois, and it is part of Bottom’s Up Farm.

Bottom’s Up Farms is celebrating 100 years of survival!  It seemed appropriate to share the farm with families and and especially children, so they could have first-hand knowledge of the historic farmland.  14 families are participating in this kid-friendly garden; none of us are experts, and we are sharing this experience with good humor and humility (in a way that families with young children understand).

    Hi Tea,
Patches are free in Manzanita Community Gardens. Do you have kids? We are a children’s garden. Contact me at egadsphoto@aol.com if you are interested.
You’ll have to call contact on Tolo Road to see if they are free.

    Hi Sally,
I’ve spoken to Webster, and he wants to give it a go again in that same space we had last year. You will get first dibs on new plots in the spring! I’m sure we have room for you.
    Cheers,
    Liz
